Okay I promise I didn’t forget about the books I am reading. In a previous post “Writing, Coffee, Oranges and Other Randomness”, I said I would try to mention a couple books that I am in the process of reading
(here is the link if you need it for the previous post https://crampedwriting.wordpress.com/2012/07/25/writing-coffee-oranges-and-other-randomness/ ).
I’m hoping to give a review of sorts á la Camika style, as well as pulling out anything that strikes my fancy when I view it from a writer’s perspective. Currently reading Eon by Alison Goodman and The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. DuBois. It is going to take me a while to get through them though.
If you area a fan of fantasy, fiction or anything with words I would recommend the book Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. It is a New York Times best seller, what I personally love about it is its uniqueness. The format is unusual because it includes pictures. The plot differs from so many of the stock stories which contain predictable outcomes. Definitely an interesting read, although not as mind-bending as The Maze Runner by James Dashner (also a good read).
So even though it is not Monday where I am, it actually feels very much like a Monday. To everyone out there who is having a case of the “Mondays” today, I salute you and wish you good luck and much awesomeness to see you through your day!
